Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
