This young athlete has considerable social media following

The young golfer can count on multiple well-known cheerleaders when she begins her LPGA debut later this week.

This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.

The former president, a passionate golfer, owns several international courses and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she revealed.

She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply stay calm."

"My grandpa practically suggested to go out there and relax," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, Kai has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds position 461 in AJGA listings.

However she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He suggested me to go out there, relax, adapting to the flow."

Kai will face several the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that her participation exposes golf to different demographics, particularly with the next generation.

The social media influencer has substantial online presence and just introduced her own fashion and living brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
