A charity drive is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The single features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the initiative have stated that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We aim for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of buildings said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The track is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
