Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates includes live text for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following last week's talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.
Notable in those games was the number of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against Denver, who play in London this weekend.
But it was positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome that deficit and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
New tight end their tight end has stepped up big while recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that the Broncos represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable down and distances.
This has helped QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.
His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws across the middle or past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.
When you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.
Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.
The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.
Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.
This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
