Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
