Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
