Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.

"The jet landed in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.

This incident isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has encountered equipment failures.

Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
